New England Trailer Sailors

Mike Morris has been working on the Lugar 26. He is lowering the front deck back to where it belongs on a 26. The raised deck is to make it a 27.

This picture shows the bow of the boat after the first cuts have been made to lower the front deck..
The next cuts removed the plywood back to the cockpit. Aft of this the plywood will remain to give lots of sleeping room .
After cutting out the plywood the deck is dropped down on the hull.
This is a picture of the keel and hinge. The trailing edge of the keel was shaped like a brick so the rear end will have filler added to give it a much better shape..
Adding filler to it gives it a decent shape..
Swing keel contoured and glassed over. It is left open so it can be filled with old wheel weights if it is not heavy enough.
The deck is in place and cardboard templates are added to show approximate profile of the new deck house. The deck house should have 6' standing headroom
