Town of Yarmouth Boat Ramp

Location: Yarmouth Maine

Body of water: Royal River - a tidal river that flows to Casco Bay

Facility Description:
A town ramp / park that has an on-site / on-call Harbormaster. A grassy picnic area with tables overlooks the popular Royal River. An ample sized area of pavement & dirt allows for on-site rigging and truck / trailer parking. Mast-up moving to & from ramp, pass between Harbormaster office and tree. A portable toilet is next to the office. To the right of the ramp (facing water) is a commercial fisherman only staging / parking area & docks - do not park there. As this facility is very busy on weekends, parking can be a challenge, but spots free up in the late afternoon as dayboaters return.

Ramp Description:
The ramp and it's approach are both paved, and are approximately 20' wide. The slope is moderate and the length varies with the tide. A 180' floating dock is parallel with the ramp allowing for easy float on / float off of the trailer. Two finger docks allow many boats tempoary tie up. Challenges include changing tides and possible crosswinds.

2012 Launch / Park Fees: If Harbormaster is not present, payment envelopes and dropbox are next to office door.

Update 2013:

As of May 25, 2013, the ramp rates of this facility have not changed.

What has changed tho, is the tree between the Harbormaster's office and the ramp has been removed, aiding in unobstructed manuevering to & from the ramp.

Dredging of the Royal River in Yarmouth is scheduled to begin by mid-October and will continue thru April 2015.
