I have a new to me Venture 17 that has a crack in the keel which wraps around the lower end. Keel is out and epoxy (West 105/205) has been delivered. It looks like the failure started from damage when the trailer axle came up and hit the keel allowing water under the glass. The Internet tells me there's wood along the leading edge.
Any suggestions on the process? I'd like to not disturb the area that is in a he keel pocket as that fits nicely and doesn't appear to have any issues. Of course I won't know until I remove some of the glass from the damaged area. Is marine plywood the only proper material to use? I may have trouble finding some.
Any advice or words of encouragement would be appreciated.
