MOANE Minutes March 18, 2000 which preceded the "Strictly Sail" boat show in Hartford, Conn.

Meeting Location: Marriott Courtyard, Windsor, Connecticut

Attendees: 21 members with 12 boats represented.

The business meeting followed a buffet breakfast that started at 8am. The meeting was called to order by the Commodore, Bruce Foshay, at 9am.

Treasurer’s Report:

Barbara Garland reported that effective 3/20/00 we have a balance of $824. This is up from a balance of $709 reported on 2/16/00. Motion passed to accept the report as presented.

Secretary’s Report:

Hal Streeter reported that the minutes of the preceding meeting held on 2/20/99 were posted on our web site for everyone to review. Most attendees had read the minutes. Motion passed to accept the report as posted.

Guest Speaker:

Mr Eric Macklin of the Hunter Corporation spoke on a new proprietary manufacturing process for trailerable sailboats used in the Hunter product line. This ACP process (advanced composite process) presentation was accompanied by a narrated videotape which was followed a question and answer period.

Points of Discussion:

There was a general observation by those that had been attending the "Strictly Sail" boat show for the preceding two days that it was significantly diminished from prior years.

A motion was made and passed to give a burgee to our upcoming guest speaker on lighthouses.

A motion was made and passed to pay for all breakfast and misc. costs that exceed $10 per person to be paid from our treasury. This was estimated at $100.
