.
ALL IN FAVOR
The membership cards and bumper stickers have been printed and are scheduled to be mailed out to members in April/May time frame.
Acting Commodore Goodhue gave the Treasurer's Report. The report showed an estimated balance in the Treasury of $2,156.17 as of March 28, 2003. This is an estimated figure because the latest statement had not been received from the bank.
44 members have presently paid their dues.
MOTION 3.05 - Chuck Crosbie moved, seconded by Bruce Taylor, to accept the Treasurer's Report.
ALL IN FAVOR
Member Ted Goodhue did an audit of the Treasury at the February Meeting at the Saving Hill Yacht Club in Quincy. The audit included all transactions through January 2003. All records were in order.
1. Lake Winnipesaukee Rendez-Vous
A discussion took place about the proposed Lake Winnipesaukee Rendez-Vous. Although some members would rather have the rendez-vous at another location than Fay's Boatyard for a change, no one was able to come up with another suitable site. The charge per night is $25.00, which Fay donates to an ice skating arena.
2. Northern New England Chapter
A discussion took place regarding an e-mail sent by Commodore Brock to the membership concerning the establishment of a northern chapter of M.O.A.N.E. and possibly considering a central and southern chapter. This issue was brought about by a request to the Commodore from a member who lives in Northern Maine This idea had been brought up by some members at a meeting some years ago and was voted down at that time. After some discussion about the pros and cons, the Acting Commodore called for a show of hands in favor of the plan and no one was in favor.
3. April Meeting
A discussion took place about a date for the April meeting in Nashua, NH but because Easter is falling late this year, no date could be agreed upon. A show of hands was against having a meeting so the Acting Commodore decided to refer the matter to the Commodore.
4. Finger Lakes Rendez-Vous
Bill Baines gave a report on a proposed rendez-vous at the Finger Lakes in New York. He reported that he had researched the possibility and concluded that it was not feasible. For one thing, the lake is very deep and anchorages would be a problem as there is a lack of coves that one could enter. Anchoring would have to be close to shore and the shoreline is very populated; chances are that some of the property owners would be complaining about boats anchored in their "front yard".
5. Informational
Our host, Sailing Specialties, is proposing to have a rendez-vous for trailable Hunter boats at their location. This possibly could include other trailable boats as well.
MOTION 3.06 - Dick Roberge moved, seconded by Roger Jones to adjourn the meeting.
ALL IN FAVOR
Acting Commodore Ed Goodhue adjourned the meeting at 1.10 p.m.
Respectfully submitted
John J. O'Connor
