III. RENDEZVOUS REPORT by the Cruise Captain

We had an absolutely wonderful season this year. We had a standard number of rendezvous, but a fabulous turnout. We had a total of 30 boats participating this summer. Of this number, 11 were new boats to sailing with NE-TS.

The tally includes
Winnipesaukee - 8 boats
Allen Harbor 1 - 10 boats
Champlain - 22 boats
Casco Bay - 2 boats
Nova Scotia - 4 boats
Allen Harbor 2 - 10 boats
Boston - 5 boats
Buzzards Bay - 5 boats.

To me what was great was the fact we introduced
5 boats to Winnipesaukee
8 boats to Allen Harbor
6 boats to Champlain
5 boats to Nova Scotia
1 boat to Casco Bay
2 boats to Boston Harbor.
1 boat to Buzzards Bay

We need to thank Al Hill for helping with those numbers. He was new to sailing all these areas and the only place he didn't go this year was Nova Scotia.

There were 10 boats at each of the Allen Harbor Rendezvous but that was 16 different boats. (well maybe that's not quite true - 2 of the boats had the same people - Tony and I each took our boats there once)

We didn't have a Northern Maine rendezvous this summer though George Lavoie did go up for the week. I have been informed that if we hold one next year it should be renamed the "Down East Maine" rendezvous. Northern Maine is not near the coast!!

I would like to thank all those who helped set up the rendezvous as well as all those who helped each other out over the summer. I was probably last to benefit from the help. I was last out of the water at the last rendezvous and I thanked Steve and Al for waiting around to help me. Their comment was that I had done that all summer. I didn't feel I was doing anything unusual and I guess neither did they. That's what this is all about. A group of people sailing together and helping each other out when needed. Thank you all for a great summer

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
There was then a discussion about possible new sailing locations. Jim Williams is going to check out his favorite launching ramp in Western Connecticut.

We also asked about ramps that people use. Paul and Jim will try to write up the ramps they use.

Jack made a suggestion of making a list of equipment people need for a rendezvous.

IV. OLD BUSINESS

BURGEES.
Bill Brock has had a hard time contacting vendors for the burgee and asked if there were some volunteers to continue the job. Paul & Millie Seeberg and Jim Williams volunteered to continue the job. Rick Dieffenbach will email them the burgee file.

CORRECTIONS AND ADDITIONS TO WEB PAGE
There were several corrections mentioned to the web page.
1. Directions to NCC need to be changed since there is now a rotary where we turn into Rivier College
2. The cost of launching at Allen Harbor is $10.00
3. The cost of launching at Wareham is now $5.00 per day
4 The last turn on the directions to the Vermont side of Champlain is not clear.
5. A channel to be used on the rendezvous should be noted on each worksheet.

CORRECTIONS TO THE BYLAWS
Several corrections are needed
1. the description of the burgee - Kathy D. will do that
2. Once the checking account is changed, eliminating MOANE from the name.
