Meeting called to order at 10:10a.m. by Vice Commodore Al Hill – A special “thank you” to Jim & Vanessa for opening up their home and hanger for our meeting. Introductions all around.

 

 

Minutes from January 14, 2007 – Barbara Garland made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes, seconded by Karen Hill and passed by acclamation.

 

 

Treasurer’s Report – Treasurer Tony DiStefano was absent. Barbara Garland reported that as of March 31, 2007 we have a bank balance of $1550.14 and no outstanding bills. We have 98 members. Karen Hill accepted the report; it was seconded by Harry Sechman and passed by acclamation.

 

 

Old Business –

ü      Club Buttons - Paul Seeberg and Karen Hill will collaborate on producing the buttons.

ü      Flags – Tony DiStefano has the Rear Commodore flag. Nancy Dobbins will contact Kathy Dieffenbach in regards to designing a “Mother Hen” flag.

ü      By-Laws – Barbara Garland will update the By-Laws.

ü      Website – Al Hill thanked Paul Seeberg for all the work he has done on the Website. Paul said he would follow-up on the suggestions and ideas for the Website discussed at the January 14, 2007 NETS meeting and listed in said minutes.

 

 

New Business –

ü      Amazon Associate – It was mentioned that by adding an Amazon link to our Website, we could earn a referral commission on all purchases made through the NETS link. Thoughts and comments concerning this can be sent via email to Paul Seeberg, the Webmaster.

ü      Reimbursements – Allain William Lansing thought we should consider reimbursing members for items purchased for meetings, events and rendezvous. Barbara Garland made such a motion; Nancy Sechman seconded it, and it passed by acclamation.

ü      Bare Boat Charter Club – Barbara Garland received an email from a couple in Vancouver, British Columbia who are members of the Bare Boat Charter Club. They wanted to know if anyone in NETS would be interested. Nancy Dobbins suggested getting one membership for our group. She also thought we should find out how many members would be interested. Barbara Garland said she would contact the charter club for more information.

ü      Books on Loan – Barbara Garland and Loyd Dussault have various books on sailing that they would be willing to loan.

ü      Rendezvous Themes – Karen Hill our Cruise Director announced the themes for 2 of our upcoming rendezvous: Lake Winnipesaukee –

 “We Be Chillin” and Lake Champlain – “Monster Bash”

ü      Places to Visit – Nancy Sechman asked if we should look into other places, islands, etc that we can visit when we are on our rendezvous. It was discussed that the Cruise Captain would/could have the information and that the size of our fleet would need to be taken into consideration.

ü      Rendezvous Worksheets – Paul Seeburg mentioned that the Cruise Captains should update directions and launching info. Barbara Garland said she would update the worksheet.

ü      Magazines – Barbara Garland and Loyd Dussault recommend and have copies of “Sail” and “Point East” magazines.

ü      “Café Press” – Nancy Dobson had her hubby Dan model his new hat they bought from “Café Press”

 

Adjourn –

                        Barbara Garland made a motion at 12:15 P.M. to adjourn the meeting; it was seconded by Loyd Dussault  and it passed by acclamation.
