Meeting called to order at 12:05 p.m. by Commodore Jack Chadowitz – Jack welcomed everyone. Introductions all around. Lots of stories shared.

 

 

Minutes from April 1, 2007 – Barbara Garland made a motion to waive the reading of the minutes, seconded by Judy Gould and passed by acclamation.

 

 

Treasurer’s Report – Treasurer Tony DiStefano was absent. Jack Chadowitz reported that as of November 3, 2007 we have a bank balance of $1769.49 and no outstanding bills. We have 121 members. Barbara Garland accepted the report; it was seconded by Linda Lacy and passed by acclamation.

 

 

Webmaster –

ü      Slideshow – Paul ran a slideshow of this year’s rendezvous

ü      Business Cards – Paul had club business cards made up and asked that we all take some to hand out to inquiring minds.

ü      Boat Ramps – Rendezvous captains should review information on Website and revise if necessary. Members should also feel free to add additional ramps.

ü      Rendezvous - Captains should review worksheets at least one month in advance.

ü      Kelly Hanson Marina - Sells only new MacGregors. They offered their location for meetings. Paul would ask them if we could set up a NETS info table at their booth.

 

 

New Business –

ü      Christmas Party – Will be referred to as a holiday party to be held December 8, 2007 at Pam & Bruce Forshay’s in Bedford, NH. They have hosted our parties for the past 10 years and Rani Chadowitz made a motion to present the Forshay’s with a $200.00 gift check. It was seconded by Millie Seeberg and passed by acclamation. Karen mentioned that she would talk with Pam regarding the gift swap. Many felt it took too long last year and we needed a change.

ü      Slate of Officers for 2008 – Dan Lacy made a motion to nominate all present officers for another year. It was seconded by John O’Connor and passed by acclamation. They are as follows:

Rear Commodore – Harry Sechman

Secretary – Nancy Sechman

Treasurer – Tony DiStefano

Cruise Captain – Karen Hill

ü      New England Boat Show – Will be held January 12th-20th, 2008. Rani Chadowitz mentioned that we should all take advantage of free tickets from the vendors.

ü      NETS 2008 Meetings – January’s meeting will be on Sunday January 13th or Saturday January 18th. Barbara Garland will call Tom, our contact at Savin Hill Yacht Club, for availability.  She mentioned we should plan ahead for the February meeting.

ü      Rendezvous for 2008 – Two rendezvous have been scheduled.            June 27th – July 6th    Lake Champlain

      July 18th – 20th   Casco Bay

Our Commodore mentioned how unscheduled rendezvous can be                 successful as proven this past season at Cuttyhunk.

ü      FYI –

v     West Marine matches Defenders prices.

v     Barbara Garland mentioned that it is important to join Boat US for the benefits.

v     Paul Seeberg reminded everyone, when buying insurance, to get unlimited towing. It’s worth it.

v     By the end of 2007 or those under 50 years of age, in New Hampshire, you will need to have a boating license if you are using a motor bigger than 15hp.

                        Ken Levitt made a motion at 2:30 P.M. to adjourn the meeting; it was seconded by Paul Seeberg  and it passed by acclamation.
