Directions to ramp:

Baldwin Bridge State Ramp: Old Saybrook, CT. Built under the I-95 (Baldwin) Bridge over the Connecticut River: Southbound on I-95: Take exit 69 (CT Route 9 N) and immediately exit on exit 1. Caution: Route 9's exit 1 is ON the I-95 to CT-9 ramp immediately after crossing the Baldwin Bridge. Turn right at the end of the exit 1 ramp and follow the local road to the bridge's launching area. Northbound on I-95: Take exit 69 (CT Route 9 N) and exit 2 (you can't get to exit 1). Turn right at the end of the ramp and then right again on the next local road. Ramp condition and docks: The ramp is 4 to 5 (boats) wide, usable at all tides. It is a relatively gentle slope and is the busiest ramp in Connecticut. Chart

Parking and Fee: Launching fee, no security normally, excellent parking (and lots of it), crowded on weekends.

Amenities: Porta-potties. Also, the ramp is next door to "Between the Bridges" marina, which is a full service marina (including transient slips). It is a Boat-US affiliate and has several TowBoat-US vessels present. .

Other notes: Baldwin Bridge Ramp is on the Old Saybrook side of the Connecticut River. The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection is on the Old Lyme side of the river. Have your paperwork in order! Tides and currents in LI Sound area are extreme. Use charts, caution, and common sense!
